[Ah yes, that one detail that made him ridiculously happy but complicated everything! For a brief moment he almost forgot how dangerous the situation was right now.
It took him a bit longer to get to Annie's house then it normally did with all the backtracking he did to avoid people. There were quite a few animals around her place, almost as if they knew she was alone and were just waiting for a chance to attack. Yeah, that's not suspicious at all. Altair felt his anger rising and his new wings instinctively flared out behind him as he quickly chased them away using his stones so he could keep his distance from the strange animals. Once he was sure it was safe, he folded his wings and ran to the house and rapidly knocked on the door.]
Annie it's me.
[Please be okay. If that stupid cat put her in danger there would be hell to pay. He didn't care how much she likes him.]
[ She had been busy while waiting for him. She had thrown a bag together for just staying away. Frankly she is glad that Gomez seems to sense something is wrong. He is hiding in one of his spots in the house. She had spied him earlier with his tail thrashing about angrily. ]

[ She opens the doors and peers past him. She distrusts the world outside right now. ]
Do you think... Wait. You have wings now? That's so cool!
[Altair gave a huge sigh of relief when Annie answered the door. He wasn't completely sure she was alright yet, but just seeing her made his relax a bit and he chuckled at her reaction to his wings.]
Yeah, apparently drunk me thought it was a good idea to ask Mana for wings.
[He looked back at his wings with a small shrug.]
They're not bad, I guess.
[He actually liked them quite a bit, when they weren’t a glowing beacon anyway, but he didn’t like that he made a deal with Mana to get them. He didn’t trust her. Even if he loved flying, his suspicion tainted his wings somewhat. Knowing Annie liked them made him like them more though. Maybe he was overthinking it. Other people had asked Mana for something and didn’t invertedly sell their soul or something like that…hopefully anyway. Now wasn’t the time to think about the possible horrible consequences making a deal with Mana had though and he turned back to Annie with a warm smile.]
[ She gives him a coy smile liking the look of him right now. No matter how strange things are between them it's starting to look good. It doesn't hurt that just seeing him gives her butterflies in her stomach.

Plus he just called her beautiful. Annie's cheeks almost glow when she smiles at him. ]

[Altair looked away shyly, running a hand quickly through his hair. Thank goodness the fog wasn't out, otherwise his wings would be super bright with how embarrassed he was right now. It was hardly the first time he said she looked nice, but now it felt different and her smile felt almost too bright to look at.]

He was happy that they could easily talk to each other like this, even in a dangerous situation, which he had almost forgotten about. [Altair considered their options. They were just animals. He could probably fight through them easily enough, if he wasn't worried about about either of them getting touched by the strange animals. It was so frustrating that he didn't know what caused the weird behavior. His thoughts were interrupted by the sound to something heavy stepping on a branch and a deep growl. Altair cursed in a language that sounded a bit like Arabic as a large bear lumbered into view.]

[He had never flown while carrying someone before but he didn't have to second guess himself right now. He needed to get Annie to safety.]

Annie doesn't want her body to get taken over. Anything but that.
Due to their differences in height, Annie's face ends up briefly hidden in Altair's chest. She doesn't want to acknowledge the fact they are pretty much exiting stage left in pursuit by bear. That would just be far too much for the young woman to deal with. Now is not the time for humor with horror. ]
[Altair looked down at her with a small smile and gripped her hand tightly to reassure her before readjusting his hold around her and leaping into the sky. His take off was a bit clumsy with him holding Annie but he was a decent flyer and he quickly left Annie's house behind. As soon as he was sure they weren't being followed he slowed down so he could check on Annie.]
[ Her cheek is pressed against him. Annie has to tilt her head to look up at him. Honestly this isn't bad. She still is going to cling to him so that she doesn't slip. He will discover her scorpion feet very gingerly ending up on his legs. She is trying hard to not pose any problems but if her feet are on him Annie is confident she won't fall. ]

Annie can probably hear his racing heart right now as he tightened his grip around her as she changed position, both to make sure she didn't fall and to comfort her. His anxious smile showed a glimmer of amusement.]
Don't worry. We should be safe up here but just to be safe, let's avoid talking about anything dangerous while we're up here. Our luck is notoriously bad after all.
