[Guess who got Annie for the Secret Santa? Clint! Guess who doesn't know anything about Annie? Clint! So here he is adopting a Super Secret username to do some snooping.]
Hey! I'm trying to interview a bunch of monsters across the peninsula on their experiences since arriving in Ryslig. I was looking through the network and I found your username. I was wondering if you had the time to answer a few questions?
[Yes, he's even varying up his typing style. He still doesn't really know where he's going to go from here.]
[Alright. Cool. Now he just...has to think of the questions he actually wants to ask. Barton, you absolute moron, why didn't you think of this before you actually sent the message?]
Okay, well, the first question I wanted to ask was how you would compare monster life to your life back at home. As little or as much detail as you want, but I think having a little more detail would help fellow monsters looking to adjust and who are coming from a similar place.
Also, probably, what would help make your life easier in general, I guess?
[ Okay. No one has really point blank asked her about this stuff before. At least not in a while. It's weird because only a few people really know her enough to hear about her family. ]
Well. I guess its a big difference. I was the only child of the owner of a big paper company.
We literally just make paper. If I was back home I'd maybe be at my freshmen year of college. I might have taken a year off. Some messed up stuff happened right before I got grabbed here.
Basically my last year of high-school could literally be one of like, 700+ horror movies. I'm slightly used to the whole "everything is awful" vibe that we have going here.
Um. I never thought of easier. I may have gotten myself a place in the woods because Bavan is like, too much sensory input for me. I'm an Arachne. I can't hack all the vibrations.
[ Just wrap her in a blanket and watch her glare baefully. ]
[To be fair, going with the angle he chose requires being quite direct! But now he's wondering if he selected the wrong strategy....]
oh
That sounds. Um. Pretty bad. Sorry to hear that.
[He reads the words "horror movie" and his mind instantly leaps to slashers.]
I mean, you gotta make your stuff work, right? Just because a better way isn't obvious doesn't mean there isn't one. Sometimes you just can't see it for yourself because you're stuck too deep in whatever hole you've ended up in. I can say that from experience.
True. Right now I'm like, one of the ones trying to figure their stuff out. Which is totes normal. I'm pretty sure everyone you're interviewing will say that.
At least I can use the hundreds of horror movies I've seen as like, a fake guide on how to get through things. I'm totally Final Girl material.

Really? Okay. I don't mind sharing some stuff. If it gets weird I'll let you know.
I have some time. Work is slightly slow. What do you want to know?

[Score.]

At least it wasn't a zombie thing!
[ It kind of was. Clint has good instincts. ]

ideal?
But, um, I guess if it works for you.
[He's asked these questions and now...he still doesn't know what to do. Good job, Clint.]
Have you heard of weighted blankets?
<a.dyer>
I'm just trying to cope in ways that don't involve giving into the urge to go Full Karen on the world.
Actually I just told Doc Hawk about them. I did an AP Bio paper on them to try and avoid a test.
<goliath>
But anyways, thanks for answering those questions. Sorry for digging up, um, any unfortunate memories.
<a.dyer>
And no problem? I try not to let things get to me too much.
[ Except when they do. ]
